Esther F. Owens

Esther F. Owens, 92, passed away at 12:50 AM on July 23, 2010 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, IN.

Mrs. Owens was born on January 1, 1918 to William and Frankie Jane (Slone) Reynolds. She married Keen Owens on November 2, 1939, he preceded her in death July 29, 1952.

She moved to Ligonier, Indiana in 1972 coming from Pippa Passes, Kentucky. She was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church of Hollybush, Kentucky. She was a diligent homemaker, avid quilter, gardener, and above all she was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. Esther will be loved and missed by those she leaves behind.

Mrs. Owens is survived by two sons, Keenis (Linda) Owens of Ligonier, Buford (Mavis) Owens of Stanton, KY; one daughter, Gladys Shepherd of Ligonier; seven grandchildren, Roberta (Troy) Arnold of Ligonier, Brenda (Michael) Smith of Ligonier, Brian (Janelle) Owens of LaOtto, Jerry "Randy" (Stella) Owens of Stanton, KY, Gary (Kalina) Gingerich of Elkhart, Zac Owens of Tampa, FL, Katie Owens of Prague, Czech Republic; 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Owens' honor on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier with Pastor Russell Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home.
