Robert R. Pruse

Robert R. Pruse, 76, New Port Richey, FL, formerly of Ft Wayne, IN passed away Tues. July 6, 2010 at Hospice Home of Ft Wayne after his sudden battle with cancer. He was born February 14, 1934 in Detroit, MI to Charles & Mary Schmitt Pruse. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy & went on to graduate from Detroit Trade School. On September 24, 1955 he married Joyce Kennedy; she preceded him in death on May 4, 2008. He was a resident of Oak Park MI, Richmond IN, Conway AR, Fort Wayne IN, & most recently of New Port Richey, FL. During his extensive engineering career, he worked as a product engineer-GM Corp. Detroit, MI, plant engineer-Wayne Corporation Richmond IN, director of engineering for Amtran Corp. Conway AR, instructor & chairman of industrial technology Anthis Career Center, & mechanical engineering technology instructor at IPFW & IUE. Mr. Pruse was a member of the Catholic Church, an active member of BPOE Elks as PER, PDDGER, Elks State Golf Secretary/Treasurer, & Elks National Hoop Shoot Committee. He was current president of Imperial Embassy Condo Assoc., member of Tarum Shrine Club Richmond, IN. and played on the GM Hockey League & Nomad’s Hockey Team Detroit, MI. He was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Richmond, IN.
Survivors include: His children, Cheryl (Mark) Greulich Richmond IN, Sandi (Phil) Cleaver Ft Wayne IN, Catherine Pruse & fiance Vincent Ramos of Melbourne FL, Doug Snodgress Warsaw IN; grandchildren, Chad (Cherish Metsch) Greulich, Britney (Justin Johnson) Greulich, Kyle (Meredith Miles) Cleaver, Heather (Mike) Wiley, Lauren Cleaver, Renatta (Anthony Reeder) Dailey, Brandon (Brittany) Snodgress, Kyla (Nick) Kaufmann, Camron Snodgress, Zack “Spencer” Snodgress; great-grandchildren, Noah Greulich, Dylan & Brayden Snodgress; and Robert’s special puppy- Daisy Dog. Robert was preceded in death by his wife-Joyce; daughter-Barbara Snodgress; and his parents. There will be a memorial service held in his honor at 2PM Sat. July 10, 2010 at the BPOE Elks #155 -4935 Hillegas Rd., Ft Wayne, IN. Friends may call from 12-2 PM prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to the "Robert R. Pruse Scholarship Fund" at any Wells Fargo Bank location.
