Ronald Edward Targgart, 73, died of natural causes Monday at 4:40 a.m. at his residence.
He was born Jan. 31, 1937, in Noble County, to Ted and Mary (Domer) Targgart. He was a lifetime area resident.
He married Clara Mae High June 14, 1955, in Wawaka.
He worked for Frick Services in Wawaka for 42 years, retiring in August 1998. He was employed as a courier at Campbell & Fetter Bank for the past 11 years.
He was a member of the Wawaka Brethren Church and was an 85-pint blood donor for the American Red Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Mae Targgart, Kendallville; daughter, Karen Lambright, Topeka; daughter-in-law, Crystal Targgart, Wawaka; grandchildren, Rachel (Lambright) Eminger (companion, Larry Sickling, Granger), Matthew (Robin) Targgart, Ligonier, Travis (Candice) Targgart, Kimmell, Adam Lambright, Topeka, and Stacey (Travis) Holton, Atlanta, Ga.; two great-grandsons, Tyler Eminger, Howe, and Layne Targgart, Kimmell; sister, Barbara (James) Eberly, LaGrange; two aunts, Margaret Horn, Topeka, and Harriet (Bill) Moyer, LaGrange; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Lee Targgart, and his parents.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier.
Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
