Donald D. Purnell

Donald D. Purnell, age 83, of Cromwell, IN passed away Sunday April 18, 2010 at 5:50 AM at Avalon Village in Ligonier, IN.

He was born on December 3, 1926 to Norman & Edna (Bargesser) Purnell in Du Quoin, IL. He married Betty Holt on July 6, 1948; she proceeded him in death in 2002.

Mr. Purnell moved to the area in 1971 coming from Hammond, IN. He worked as a truck driver for several years, served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a member of the Cromwell Masonic Lodge #705.

He is survived by, one daughter: Judy Gershkowitz of Lakeland, FL, one son: Roger Purnell of Cromwell, IN, 5 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, one son: Rickey Purnell, and 3 brothers: Cecil, Leon and Harry.

A private family burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery- Kimmell, IN.
