Orlin Paul Doege, age 69, of Cromwell, IN passed away March 29, 2010 at 1:57 PM in Parkview Hospital of Fort Wayne after a brief illness.
He was born on January 10, 1941 in Roanoke, IN to Herbert & Florence (Mayberry) Doege. He graduated from Roanoke High School in 1958 & went on to marry Sharon J. Gibson on February 23, 1963. They moved to Cromwell from the Fort Wayne area in 1967.
He retired from General Electric in 1997 after 37 years of service. He was very active in the Enchanted Hills Association & had also been actively involved in the Boy Scouts as an adult volunteer leader for over 20 years. He was also passionate about coin collecting & enjoyed spending time at Jelly Stone Park in Pierceton, IN.
He is survived by his wife: Sharon J. Doege of Cromwell, IN; 3 Children: James (Cathy) Doege of Greenville, SC, Deborah (Joe) Strange of Wesley Chapel, FL & William (Adrienne) Doege of Cromwell, IN; 9 Grandchildren: Tyler, Alec, Amber, Ben, Sidney, Alexander, Madison, Kennedy, & Andrew; 1 Sister: Margaret Hinman of Roanoke, IN & 1 Step-Sister: Jean (Norbert) Gabet of Syracuse, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents & 1 Sister: Sharon Meeks
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 2, 2010 at 5PM at Yeager Funeral Home- 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 with Pastor Dave Bosenberg of Cromwell United Methodist Church officiating.
Friends may call Friday, April 2, 2010 from 2-5 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Riley Children’s Foundation- 30 South Meridian St. Suite 200; Indianapolis, IN 46204.
