Jerry Lynn Burkitt

Jerry Lynn Burkitt, age 63, of Cromwell, IN passed away March 12, 2010 at 7:45 PM in his residence. He was born June19, 1946 in St. Charles, IL to Granado K. & Helen M. (Brown) Burkitt. Jerry married Elaine VanDrew\Miretti on August 16, 2008, she survives.

Jerry graduated from Columbia City High School & went on to earn an honor’s degree from Santa Rosa Junior College where he was an architectural major. He retired from Rassi’s Lawn & Garden in Elkhart in 2009. Above all, Jerry loved his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

Jerry in Survived by his wife: Elaine Burkitt of Cromwell, IN; 2 Children: Janni Sue Rhodes of Mentone, IN & Benjamin David (Christine) Thompson of Columbia City; 6 Step-Children: Sarah Miretti & her fiancé Tim Cassidy of New Jersey, Susanna (Ricky) Gibson of Leesburg, IN, David Miretti of Cromwell, IN, John (Emily) Miretti of North Webster, IN, Joseph Miretti of Fort Wayne, IN, & Anna Theresa Joy Miretti of Cromwell, IN; Ten Grandchildren & Numerous nieces & nephews; 2 Sisters: Andrea (Paul) Barnett of New Haven, IN, Donna Jean Smith of Churubusco, IN. He was preceded in death by his Parents & an infant son: James Jonathon Burkitt.

A memorial service will be held Friday March 19, 2010 at 6 PM at Merriam Christian Chapel-3985 South US Highway 33, Albion, IN 46701. Pastor Terry Zolman and Glenn Stech will be officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. A private family burial will take place in Nolt Cemetery in Columbia City, IN
