Ruth I. Fausnaugh, age 91, of Wawaka, formerly of Kimmell, passed away Tuesday March 2, 2010 at 2:50 PM from natural causes, in her residence.
She was born on May 2, 1918 to John & Floy Griffin in Auburn, IN. She married Bernard Fausnaugh on January 3, 1946 in Garrett, IN. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1998.
Ruth was a lifelong area resident and a dedicated homemaker. In 1974 she and her husband founded The Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle in Kimmell. Her husband, Rev. Bernard Fausnaugh, served as pastor of the church until he passed away in 1998. After his passing, Ruth continued to faithfully attend the church.
Surviving are two sons: Stanley (Nancy) Fausnaugh of Ligonier, Steven Fausnaugh of Ft. Wayne, one daughter: Debra Hanlon of Wawaka, one brother: Harold (Charlene) Griffin of Waterloo, three sisters: Alice (Dan) Whonsettler of Avilla, Pauline (Lawrence) Baliet of Corruna, Patricia Hornet of Auburn, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother: Joe Griffin Sr.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 1 PM at the Lighthouse Tabernacle-6522 East Noe St., Kimmell, IN 46760 with Pastor Glen Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery- Kimmell, IN.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 4-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home-1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767.
