Virginia "Ginny" E. Guthrie

Virginia "Ginny" Guthrie, age 86, of Cromwell, died at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville on February 26, 2010.

She was born on May 18, 1923 in Glenkarn, Ohio to Russell & Ada Lavon (Beam) Flatter.

Virginia worked as a secretary to the Chief Process Engineer for AVCO. She retired from Family Fare in Ligonier. Virginia enjoyed playing euchre, reading cookbooks and collecting recipes for freinds. She also loved shopping at Goodwill and garage saling.

Surviving are two daughters: Gail Knafel of Cromwell, Dale (David) Lehner of Alexandria, VA, a granddaughter: Kathleen Lehner of Alexandria, VA, one grandson: David John Lehner III of Alexandria, VA, and special friends: The Don Poyser family. Viginia was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a funeral service in her honor on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 6 PM at Yeager Funeral Home-1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767 with Reverend Barry St. Clair officiating.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 4-6 PM before the funeral service at Yeager Funeral Home.

Burial will take place on Monday March 1, 2010 at 1:30PM at the Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell with graveside services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sparta Township Fire Department.
