Mary J. Schlabach

Mary J. Schlabach, aged 88 years, 8 months & 16 days, of Topeka, IN passed away January 15, 2010 at 8:30 PM as the result of natural causes. She was born on April 28, 1921 to John S. & Martha Miller. On January 14, 1941 she married Amos Schlabach, he preceded her in death on May 15, 1994. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church & was a dedicated homemaker.

She is survived by 6 daughters & their husbands: Barbara Ellen & Wilbur Yoder of Topeka, Edna & Ervin Bontrager of Topeka, Mattie & Edward Slabach Jr. of Shipshewana, Katie & Ernest Mullet of Shipshewana, Anna & LeRoy Lambright of Topeka, & Naomah & Willie Yoder of Millersburg; 9 Sons & their wives: John & Katie Schlabach of Shipshewana, Ervin & Diane Schlabach of Texas, Mahlon & Treva Schlabach of Shipshewana, Amos Jr. & Ruby Schlabach of Shipshewana, Lloyd & Marietta Schlabach of Ligonier, Harley & LaVera Schlabach of Goshen, Ray & Miriam Schlabach of Sarasota, FL, Leroy Schlabach of Sarasota, FL, & Nelson & Martha Schlabach of Topeka

She also leaves to mourn 215 grandchildren, 238 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, & 3 sisters: Lena, Mattie, & Katie.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Elsa; 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, & 5 sisters.

Friends may call after 1PM on Sunday January 17, 2010 & all day Monday January 18, 2010 at the Wilbur Yoder residence-4825 W. 700 S., Topeka, IN 46571

A funeral service will be held, Tuesday January 19, 2010 at 9:30 AM at the Floyd Fry residence-4685 W. 700 S., Topeka, IN 46571. Bishop Samuel Herschberger along with the home ministry will officiate. Burial will take place in Hawpatch Cemetery-Topeka, IN. Pall bearers will be Floyd Fry, Wayne Fry, Calvin Raber, & Lloyd Bontrager.
