Earnest Shell

Earnest J. Shell, 91, of Ligonier died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Avalon Village in Ligonier.
He was born March 13, 1918, to John and Etta (Gill) Shell. He married Donnabelle Stahley on Aug. 30, 1941, in Wawaka. She preceded him in death on Aug. 9, 2009.

Mr. Shell was a lifetime area resident & had farmed for more than eight decades. He was a 1936 graduate of Ligonier High School, attended the Wawaka Church of the Brethren, & loved to fish.

Survivors include: 2 Children: Loretta J. (Joe) Bear of Tipton, IN & Robert J. (Loretta R.) Shell of Shipshewana, IN; 4 Grandchildren: Larry (Melissa) Bear of Tipton, IN, Mary T. (Paul) Clouser of Delphi, IN, Jennifer (Paul) Stauffer of Boston, MA, Matthew J. (Jennifer) Shell of Goshen, IN; & 5 Great-Grandchildren: Joseph, Jacob, John, Elijah and Lidea.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday January 15, 2009 at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier with Pastor Verne Leininger officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier. Calling will be from 3-6 p.m. Thursday January 14, 2010 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Friday.
