Barbara Ann Kurtz

Barbara Ann Kurtz, age 64 of Topeka, IN died on December 1, 2009 at 8:15 AM at her son's home, John Jay Kurtz, after battling cancer since May.

She was born on August 27, 1945 and was a lifetime area resident. She worked in the Westview School Cafeteria and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

She is survived by 1 son: John Jay (Leanna) Kurtz, 3 grandchildren: Elaine, Michael & Marcus Kurtz; 3 brothers: John (Lucille) Kurtz of Topeka, Jacob (Fannie) Kurtz of LaGrange, Christ (Christina) Kurtz of Bourbon; 3 sisters: Mattie (Joe) Fry of Topeka, Susie Eash of Topeka, Ella (Harley) Weaver of Dalton, WI, 1 sister-in-law: Elise Kurtz of Millersburg. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, 1 brother: Manelius Kurtz, 1 sister-in-law & 1 brother-in-law: Willis Eash.

A funeral will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 1:00 at the John Jay Kurtz residence, 4315 W. 600 S. Topeka, IN 46571. Bishop Daniel Otto & home ministries will be officiating and burial will be in Miller Cemetery in LaGrange. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 after 1:00 and all day Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the John Jay Kurtz residence, 4315 W. 600 S., Topeka, IN 46571. Pallbearers will be David Kurtz, Jonas Weaver, Merlin Eash, Delmar Fry, Lavern Kurtz & Chris Lamar Kurtz.
