Theda L. Frey

Theda L. Frey, age 79, of Topeka, IN passed away at her residence Tuesday September 8, 2009 at 12:03 PM after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 16, 1930 to Homer & Elma (Weaver) Ramsby in Allen County. She married Sylvanus Frey on April 9, 1976 and was a lifelong area resident of Topeka, IN.

Theda retired from Cromwell Products after over 20 years and also taught piano lessons for many years.

She graduated from Topeka High School in 1948 and attended Goshen College where she studied music. She was a member of the Topeka United Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to travel and take her grandchildren camping. She was also especially fond of dalmation dogs.

She is survived by: 2 Daughters: Tamra (Phil) Gerber of Shipshewana, Paula (Gary) Yoder of Rochester; 1 Son: Craig (Beth) Helman of Topeka; 13 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A funeral service will be held for Theda on Saturday September 12, 2009 at 10 AM at Topeka United Methodist Church- 124 West Pine St., Topeka, with Pastor Dianna Siegel officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery located on State Road 5 north of Ligonier. There will be a time of visitation on Friday September 11, 2009 from 2-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier.
