Lois Elaine Dodds

Lois Elaine (Green) Dodds, age 100, of Syracuse, IN, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 19, 2017. She was born at home in Kosciusko County, IN on September 5, 1916, the daughter of Fred and Blanche (Wilkinson) Green. On November 19, 1941 Lois married Horton C. Dodds; he preceded her in death on May 17, 1993.

She is survived by her son, Don C. (Rita) Dodds of Ligonier, IN; four grandchildren, Rebecca Dodds, Christopher (April) Dodds, Jennifer (Ryan) Fox all of Fort Wayne, IN, and Paul Dodds Nashville, TN; eight great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Josh, Emma, Jax, Brighton, Packard, Posey, and Fletch; and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Paisley.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a son, Steven C. Dodds; a grandson, Phillip Dodds; and two siblings, Edwin Green and Margaret Nesbitt.

Lois traveled and lived around the world with her husband and sons as they served their country faithfully in the United States Army. She graduated from Syracuse High School and was very proud of never missing a day or being tardy. She was a member of Cromwell United Methodist Church., enjoyed crafts, chatting on the phone, and spending time with her friends. She also loved to golf in her earlier years. Lois had an incredible memory and was blessed to keep her sharp wit to the very end.

In keeping with her wishes, no public visitation or services are planned. A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center. The family will host a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
