Jennie M Cart

Jennie M. Cart, age 86, of Ligonier, IN, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Courtyard Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Goshen, IN. She was born on November 19, 1930 the daughter of Thomas T. and Sylvia M. (Whiteman) Davis. She married James M. Cart on July 25, 1948 in Wolf Lake, IN; he preceded her in death on July 20, 1993.

She is survived by three children, Karen (Michael) Andrews of Sturgis, MI, Sandra Smith of Ligonier, IN, and James Cart Jr. Peru, IN; four grandchildren, Michelle ( Ron), Darrell (Cindy), David (Angie) , and Travis (Sabrina); eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne (Audrey) Davis of Orlando, FL, and Don (Betty) Davis of Goshen, IN; along with two sister-in-laws, Lorena Karst of Goshen, IN and Dorothy Buckenmeyer of Huntertown, IN.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson, Todd; and four siblings, Mary Hyndman, Bob Davis, John Davis, and Dale Davis.

Jennie retired from Silgan Plastics and farmed with her husband for many years. She was a talented seamstress and a regular at the Charger House in Ligonier. Jennie loved children and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend.

A funeral service in Jennie’s honor will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 23, 2016 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767.  Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Goshen, IN.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Yeager Funeral Home.
