Tara's Story
Tara Lynn Thomas, age 43, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (March 6, 2017) at Fairmont Regional Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 3, 1974, at Whitesburg, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Mitchell William Thomas and Frankie Oliver Thomas.
She is survived by her seven children, Crystal Lyons of Boston, Massachusetts, James Downs of Boston, Massachusetts, Cecelia Downs of Boston, Massachusetts, Phillip Hildreth of Indiana, Allen Lambeth of Fairmont, Shawn Smallwood of Fairmont, and Shauna Smallwood of Fairmont; five grandchildren, Leah Lambeth, Sophia Lambeth, Lium Hildreth, Logan Lyons and Jace Hildreth; brothers and sisters, Teresa Vinson, Ronnie Thomas, William Thomas, Mike Vinson, Alvin Thomas, Beatrice Thomas and Margie Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Tara was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Ray Thomas.
Tara loved to sing and won Karaoke of America nationwide. She was an accomplished poet who enjoyed writing poetry and crocheting. She loved God and always read her Bible. She helped many young people in the neighborhood and opened her home to help them. She always left people with a smile on their face.
Family and friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St. in Mannington, with a funeral service beginning at 6 p.m., with Pastor John Lilly officiating.
Friends and family may call upon Yeager Funeral Home - 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767, on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. and interment will follow immediately at Maple Grove Cemetery located in Topeka, IN.
