Della Rose Brown

Mrs. Della Rose Brown, 76, of East Donald Street entered heavenly rest on Monday, February 27, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the union of Dewey and Lela Brown on February 26, 1941, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Della Brown and Willard Brown entered into marriage in 1958. They were blessed to have six children: Yvonne Brown of South Bend, IN, Hazel Ann (Floyd) Ellis of Grand Rapids, MI, Angela J. Hamb, Willard “Bill” Brown Jr., Will J. Brown, all of South Bend, and Roy Brown of Indianapolis, IN.

“A mother's love is one of a kind,” Della Rose Brown, a woman of compassion, was employed with the St. Mary's Nun convent in Notre Dame, IN, as a dietitian assistant for over 30 faithful years.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory five children; twelve grandchildren, April Hamb, Cecila Hamb, Anthony White, Leila M. Ellis, NaShawn Brown, Alec Brown, Willard Brown III, Jentell Brown, Nicholas Carothers, Patrick Carothers, Samuel Brown, and Joshua Brown; 3 great-grandchildren, Zahir Z. Brown, Shanelle Brown and Dawn Brown. Three special nieces: Kim and Shelia Watkins and Loretta (Craig) Morgan.
