Morris E. Barrett

Morris E. Barrett, age 81, of Ligonier, IN passed away unexpectedly at 7:31 AM at Goshen General Hospital, Wednesday August 12, 2009. He was born on March 20, 1928 to Emi & Effie (Chrisman) Barrett in Ligonier, IN.

Morris was a lifelong area resident. He was self employed and was a dedicated servant to Ligonier United Methodist Church and to his community. He was a member of the Ligonier Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite & the Shriners.

He is survived by his companion: Gloria Beckner of Ligonier; 7 cousins: Gary (Caroline) Chrisman of Shipshewana, Nolan "Butch" Chrisman of Wolcottville, Phil (Judith) Chrisman of Nappanee, Ray (Deanna) Chrisman of LaGrange, Lee (Ruth Ann) Chrisman of Winona Lake, Don (Linda) Chrisman of Ligonier, & Barb Leamon of Cromwell. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held for Morris on Monday August 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Ligonier United Methodist Church with Pastor Jean Ness officiating. Burial will be in Oak Part Cemetery in Ligonier. A visitation will be held on Sunday August 16, 2009 at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier from 2-4 and 6-8.
