Catrina Leigh Bontrager

Catrina Leigh Bontrager, age 30, of Goshen, IN, passed away unexpectedly as the result of a car accident that took place on January 17, 2017. She was born on September 2, 1986 the daughter of Troy A. and Martha (Sanchez) Hedges in Virginia Beach, VA. On November 18, 2006 she married Andrew Bontrager in Kendallville, IN.

Catrina graduated from West Noble High School in 2005 where she was a cheerleader. She loved to dance, participating in dance from time she was five years. Catrina was an avid Colts fan, and a daddy’s girl, she always loved to remind her father how bad the Miami Dolphins were. She also loved to play cards, corn hole, fishing, and especially cheering her children on at sporting events.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew Bontrager of Goshen, IN; three children, Karl Hedges-Baker, Melody Bontrager, and Trinity Bontrager all of Goshen, IN; Parents, Troy (Angela) Hedges of LaGrange, IN & Martha Hedges of Ligonier, IN; 3 sisters, Candice (Nate) Trejo, Kelsey (Jeremy) Frey, and Kaitlin Hedges all of Ligonier; maternal grandmother, Ana Maria  Sanchez of Ligonier, IN; paternal grandmother, Janice (John) Diller of Fort Wayne, IN; a step-sister, Chelsea (Nathaniel) Martin of LaGrange, IN; along with four nieces and three nephews.  She was preceded in death by a step-brother, Frederick Sturdivant in 2013; grandfathers, Karl Hedges and Enrique Sanchez; and a nephew, Frederick Sturdivant Jr.

A funeral service in Catrina’s honor will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Yeager Funeral Home; 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastors Jon Rauch and Tannan Peters will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN. Family and friends will be received at Yeager Funeral Home from 2-8 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2017 and also one hour prior to the funeral on Monday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
