Donabelle M. Shell

Donabelle Shell, age 90, of Ligonier, IN passed away at 9:40 AM Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Avalon Village in Ligonier, of natural causes.

A lifetime area resident, Donabelle retired from the Ligonier High School Lunch Program. She attended the Wawaka Church of the Brethren where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Group.

She was born in Nappanee, IN, November 11, 1918 to Roy and Ethel (Frederick) Stahly. She married Earnest J, Shell, her husband of over 67 years on August 30, 1941 in Wawaka, IN, he survives.

Surviving are her husband: Earnest J. Shell of Ligonier, IN; 2 Children: Loretta J. (Joe) Bear of Tipton, IN, Robert J. (Loretta R.) Shell of Shipshewana, IN; 4 Grandchildren: Larry (Melissa) Bear of Tipton, IN, Mary T. (Paul) Clouser of Delphi, IN, Jennifer (Paul) Stauffer of Boston, MA, Matthew J. (Jennifer) Shell of Goshen, IN; 5 Great-grandchildren: Joseph, Jacob, John, Elijah and Lidea; 1 brother: John (Rose) Stahly of South Bend, IN; 1 Sister: Jean Loveless of Sebring, FL.

She was preceded in death by 1 son: Adrian E. Shell in 2001, her parents, and 3 brothers, Fred, Dan and Roy Stahly Jr.

Services will be held Wednesday August 12, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier, IN.

Friends may call on Tuesday August 11, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
