James served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1939-1943. James received a Bronze Star as well as the Purple Heart. He worked for himself as a talented carpenter for many years. He appreciated all the things that the outdoors could do for him. The countless hours put in to traveling, fishing, ice fishing, and gardening really kept a smile on his face. No weed would be safe with James Coy around. His family and friends will remember his large iris flower bed, hearty smile during his birthday and other holidays, and the pride he carried from his Native American Roots to being from the Greatest Generation.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 25 years, Shirley Coy of Topeka, IN; children, Patricia A. Lintz of Mottville, MI; D. Joyce (Richard) Brown of Ligonier, IN; Michael J.
