David Wayne Teel

David “Wayne” Teel, 54, of Cromwell, passed away in an auto accident on November 28, 2016 in Elkhart County.  He was born on May 17, 1962 in Charleston, West Virginia to David L. and Janet (Copen) Teel.

Wayne is survived by his fiancée, Carrie Thompson of South Bend, IN; 2 Sons, Justin (Tiffany) Teel of Warsaw, IN and Gary (Ashley) Teel; 3 step-children: Brittnee Thompson and John Thompson of South Bend, IN and Kristianna Pieper of Texas; 6 Grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his mother, Janet Teel of Cromwell, IN; 2 sisters, Cindy Dooley of Fort Wayne, IN and Christina (Kevin) Davidsen of Cromwell, IN; 1niece and 3 nephews survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, David, in 2001 and his grandparents.

He graduated from West Noble High School in 1980.  He graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a degree in Criminal Justice.  He was employed with Lippert Components in Goshen, IN.  He loved camping in Jellystone National Park; he enjoyed NASCAR and Football, as well as riding his Harley.  He was a former member of the Sparta Township Volunteer Firefighters.  He rode with the Patriot Guard.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

A Memorial Service in his honor will be on Friday December 2, 2016 at 5:00 pm at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767.  Celebrant Larry Baker will officiate.  There will be a time of visitation from 2-5 Friday at the funeral home.

Burial to take place at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN on Saturday December 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM.
