LIGONIER — Arnold R. Weimer, 70, of Ligonier died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 3:36 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, of natural causes.
A lifetime area resident, Mr. Weimer worked as a water softener serviceman and farmed for many years. He was a member of Cromwell United Methodist Church.
He was born Oct. 21, 1938, in Noble County to Lennel and Hazel (Hunter) Weimer, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 24, 1956, he married Darlene M. Beard. She preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 1997.
Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Brad Weimer of Springcreek, Nev., Perry Weimer of Wilmot, Wes and Melissa Weimer of Cromwell and Michael and April Weimer of Ligonier; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sally Hammond of Warsaw and Ginger and Orlando Fernandez of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Leonard Mauzy of Fort Wayne.
Also preceding him in death were a sister, Ruby Weimer; two brothers, Lennel "Pat" and John Weimer; and a great-granddaughter, Marissa Squadrito.
Services will be Thursday, July 30, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Stone's Hill Community Church, Ligonier. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery,Wilmot.
Calling will be Wednesday, July 29, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier.
