Elfie M. Deardorff

Elfie M. Deardorff, formerly of rural Kimmell, IN., passed away on July 9, 2016 in Zionsville Meadows. She was 90 years old. Her husband, Glenn Deardorff, passed away 13 years ago.

Formerly Elfie Spring, she was born on March 8, 1926 in Kimmell to the late Eliza and James Spring. She met Glenn when she was 14 years old and has missed him every day since his passing.

They spent their lives working together on their farm. They lived, loved, laughed and argued for most of their life together.

She is survived by her sister, Georgia Bussen Coburn of Edwardsburg, MI. Also by two daughters; Glenda Deardorff McCabe of Zionsville, IN., and Tammy Deardorff Walbridge of Syracuse, IN.

The great joys of her life were Erin McCable Clayton and George Bailey Walbridge, her grandchildren.

She was awaiting the birth of her great grandson, Glenn Edward Clayton, but probably couldn’t wait to tell Glenn that his namesake was on the way. She was never very patient.

Hopefully, they are once again together and laughing!

A graveside memorial service will begin at 2PM on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN.
