Nancy J Black

Nancy J. Black, age 78, of Cromwell, IN, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, IN. She was born on January 18, 1938 in Nappanee the daughter of Clifford H. & Ethel M. (Webster) Peters. On July 29, 1967 she married Gale E. Black in North Webster.

Nancy worked for Weatherhead Corporation in Syracuse for 16 years. She loved gardening, flowers, her animals, traveling, crafts, and especially her dog, Lady. Nancy also liked to eat out any chance she got.

She is survived by her husband, Gale Black of Cromwell; children, Janna (Phil) Huckolls of Eatonton, GA, Jennifer Phlegar of Warsaw, Jimmy Phlegar of Rome City; step-son, Michael Black of Lafayette; a sister, Jean Horn of Florida; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Peters; along with a sister, Carrie Haggerty.

A funeral service will be held at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767, on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Ken Weaver will officiate. Burial will follow at Indian Village Cemetery in Cromwell, IN.

Family and friends will be received from 12 noon until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are to Parkview Noble Hospice.
