Donald R. Shaw

Donald R. Shaw, age 77, of Ligonier, IN passed away Monday June 1, 2009 at 1:30 PM at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne after an extended illness. He was born on June 1, 1932 in Vici, Oklahoma to Claude Albert & Bertha Caroline (Hay) Shaw. On June 26, 1954 he married Suzanne (Williams) Shaw, she survives.

Donald moved to the area in 1973. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1973 after 20 years of honorable service to his Country. In addition to his military career he was an electrician and had been a real estate & insurance agent for over 20 years. He was also a member of both the Masons and Shriners' organizations.

Surviving along with his wife Suzanne of Ligonier, IN are a son: Kenneth & Cathy Shaw of Ligonier, IN; a daughter: Deborah & Kim Shock of Colorado Springs, CO; 3 grandsons: Benjamin & Aimee Shaw of Grove City, OH; Daniel & Chrissy Shaw of Sweetser, IN; Paul Shock of Colorado Springs, CO; one granduaghter: Carol Rose & Jason Cuppy of Colorado Springs, CO; 3 great grandsons & 1 sister:Charlene Ford of Salem, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.

A funeral service will be held Friday June 5, 2009 at 11 AM at Ligonier Evangelical Church, 1911 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN with Reverend Steve Cox officiating. The United States Air Force Honor Guard will conduct full military rites at the graveside. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery- Kimmell, IN.

Viewing will be Thursday June 4, 2009 from 4-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN.
