Arlene F. Werker, 74, of Albion, died May 29, 2009, at Progressive Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She was born May 25 1935, in Elkhart County to Wilbur & Mary (Stoltz) Saggars. She married Wayne Werker October 26, 1958, he survives.

She was a Lifetime area resident. After working as an elementary school teacher she along with her husband built Albion Bowl in Albion, and had owned and operated the business from its inception in 1967.

She was a graduate of Millersburg High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Manchester College and a masters degree from St. Frances College. She was a member of Richville United Methodist Church. Arlene had also served for many years on the Indiana Bowling Proprietors Board of Directors.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Werker of Albion; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Grace Werker of Albion; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Don Sheline of Goshen, and Rosalie and Steve Meck of Syracuse.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Patricia Sue Werker in 2000, and a sister, Elaine Sue Hibschman.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Richville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Carol Knox officiating.Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.

Calling will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, and one hour prior to the service.
