Shirley A. Guenther

Shirley A. Guenther, age 80, of Albion, IN, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 19, 2016, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on November 8, 1935 the daughter of William A. and Armetta (Parr) Hickman in Swan Township, IN. On December 23, 1967 she married Kenneth T. Guenther; he preceded her in death on October 3, 2013. She is survived by five children, Curt Mundon of Kendallville, IN., Russ (Anne) Mundon of Ligonier, IN., Scott Mundon of Kendallville, IN., Vickie Merrill of Kendallville, IN., and Jodie (Warren) Patrick of Ligonier, IN; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; one son-in-law: Rex Asher of Battle Creek, MI; two brothers; Robert Hickman of Ligonier, IN., Donald (Cindy) Hickman of Olmstead, MI., and one sister: Sharon Hardin of Garrett, IN. She is preceded in death by: her parents; a daughter, Tracy Asher and a half-brother, Keith Brown and son-in law; Pat Merrill. Shirley was a dedicated mother all her life and had once worked at John and Mids Restaurant in Albion; Custodian at Central Noble High School; and most recently, she was a day care provider at Trinity Daycare in Albion. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Albion. Shirley was a telephone call away and knew how to get your attention. Above all else, she loved being with her family and was an exceptional grandmother. A funeral service in Shirley's honor will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 7 PM at the CrossPointe Family Church of the Nazarene – 205 Highpointe Crossing Kendallville, IN 46755. Pastor Doug Keenan and Pastor Rich Secor will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery, in Albion, IN. Family and friends will be received from 3PM-7 PM prior to the service on Wednesday at CrossPointe Family Church of the Nazarene.
