Pastor John A. Bair, age 68, of South Bend, IN passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday evening, May 19, 2009 at his residence in South Bend, IN.

He was born on November 12, 1940 to Theodore & Wanda (Ravenscroft) Bair in South Bend, Indiana. On October 12, 1968 he married Delores A. Carter, she survives.

Pastor Bair was a lifelong area resident. He was baptized in Jesus name & received the gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 19. He then went on to serve his country honorably during Vietnam in the United States Army. He became an ordained minister in the Apostolic faith & had been pastor of Bethel Tabernacle in Niles, MI for the last 35 years. Pastor Bair was also the host of the radio program Moments of Devotion which has been broadcast every Sunday afternoon & evening on WHME 103.1 for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife: Delores A. Bair of South Bend, 2 sons: Nathan (Agnes) Bair & Matthew (Kathryn) Bair both of South Bend, 1 Adopted Daughter: Priscilla Riden of Niles, MI, 9 grandchildren: Rebecca, Nicolle, Rachel, Austin, Nathan II, Josiah, Abigail, Pierston & Anthony and 1 brother: Jeremiah Bair of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his parents & two brothers.

A funeral service will be held for Pastor Bair on Saturday May 23, 2009 at 11 AM at Bethel Tabernacle- 110 Ironwood Dr. Niles, MI 49120 with Bishop Alfred Deeds, Pastor Robert Geans & Bishop Benny Archer officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery- South Bend, IN. There will be a time of visitation Friday May 22, 2009 from 2-8 PM at Bethel Tabernacle. Memorial Contributions may be made to Bethel Tabernacle Mission or Building Fund- 110 Ironwood Dr. Niles, MI 49120.
