Margaret Leslie

Margaret Leslie, age 94, of Ligonier, IN., passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at her home in Ligonier. She was born on November 5, 1921, the daughter of Claude and Luella (Thatcher) Noe in Kimmell, IN. On September 12, 1942, she married Lloyd Ray Leslie; he preceded her in death in 1985.

She is survived by her children; Linda (Paul) Miller, Craig (Becky) Leslie, Bruce (Christine) Leslie, Peggy (Richard) Correll, Joyce Kuhn and Vivian (Talton) Wicker. 13 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren and 11 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Two sisters; Alice (Kenneth) Deetz and Sharon (John Ray) Chenoweth.

Margaret is welcomed into everlasting life by her parents, husband, Lloyd, daughter; Loraine Poffenberger and son; Brian Leslie, one grandchild; DeWayne Wicker, brothers; Norman Noe, Ray Noe, Robert Noe, Roger Noe, and sisters; Claudine Bolin, Violet Mahnesmith, and DorothyWisniewski.

Margaret graduated from Ligonier High School in 1940. After high school, she married Lloyd and began her family. She enjoyed working at Monsanto and retired from Silgan. You could always find Margaret reading a good book and dabbling in her sewing pile. Gardening was also something she really liked to do. Picking berries, making pies and canning are things to add to the list of what Margaret was good at. Rumor has it she made the best cinnamon rolls in town.

A Memorial Service will be held in Margaret’s honor on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 2:00PM at Stones Hill Church, 151 West Stones Hill Road Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Joey Nelson will officiate. Private committal will take place at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN.

Family and friends will be received from 1:00PM-2:00PM on Thursday, prior to memorial service.
