Jimmie D. Hill, age 77, passed away April 3, 2016 at Parkview Whitley hospital in Columbia City Sunday evening. He was born in Kosciusko County on May 28, 1938 the son of Ira and Mildred “Peggy” (Bills) Hill. Jimmie was Honorably discharged from the United States Army August 31, 1967 and was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge # 1763 and American Legion Post #243 both in Ligonier, IN. Jimmie retired as the Shipping Manager from Kinro Manufacturing in Goshen, IN in 2008. He was a long time resident of Knapp Lake in Noble County where he enjoyed sitting on his deck and watching the boats go by. He survived by best friend/companion of more than 40 years Jeanie Marrs, Son Jeff Marrs and his Fiancé April Bellmore, granddaughter Stormie and her Husband Dylan Mahon, great grandson Bentley Mahon and soon to be great- granddaughter Aliyah Rose Mahon. Two brothers; Tommy and Daryl Hill, nephew; Troy Hill and niece Holly. He was preceded in death by his parents Ira and Mildred, brother; Jerry Hill, nephews Danny Hill and Tracy Hill, and Niece Heather. A funeral service will be held in Mr. Hills’s honor on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 with celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Burial will be at Thorn Cemetery in Wolf Lake, IN. Friends may call upon the funeral home from 10AM – 11AM prior to the service at the funeral home. There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in honor of Jimmie may be directed to Humane Society of Noble County - 1305 Sherman St, Kendallville, IN 46755.
