Evelyn Conrad

Evelyn Beth Conrad, 88 of Ligonier, IN passed away on March 19, 2016 at Sunrise University Nursing Home in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born on June 25, 1927 to Clarence and Hattie (Rich) Elliott in Uniondale, IN. She married Russell Dean Conrad on December 1, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2006. She married Wayne Roe of Rochester, IN on March 26, 2007. Evelyn and Russell had a dairy farm in Ligonier, IN. Evelyn, at the age of 47, become a Licensed Practical Nurse working at Goshen Hospital. Evelyn enjoyed spending the winters in sunny Sun City, Arizona where her favorite pastime was miniature golf. Evelyn also enjoyed gardening, crafts, playing her organ, and playing cards and dominoes with her husband, friends, and her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Wayne Roe, her children; son, Ronald, and wife Jan Conrad of Colorado Springs, daughters; Janet and husband Mark Christian of Livermore, CA and Jayne and husband David Alger of Ligonier, IN and 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Conrad, her parents, Clarence and Hattie (Rich) Elliott, her son, Steven Alan Conrad, three sisters, Joan Brewer, Elizabeth Nelson, and Eileen Galligan and two brothers, Richard Elliott and Clarence Elliott Jr. A funeral service will be held in Evelyn’s honor on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2PM at Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767. Rev. Larry Byrnes - will officiate. Family and friends may gather from 12PM – 2PM on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN following the service.
