Virgil Emerson Miller, age 94, of Wawaka and formerly of Brooksville, FL went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 2:40AM at his home. He was born on February 13, 1922 in Grove City, OH to Harvey & Florence (Weed) Miller. On August 20, 1943 he married Irma Edith Mers. She passed away in November of 1989. He then married Erma Ruth Bunish on May 5, 1990. She preceded him in death in November of 2010. Virgil grew up in Ohio and went on to serve his country honorably in the Army Signal Corps during WWII and served in Germany and France. He then became a Pastor and ministered in Ohio, Michigan and Florida. Virgil also was a skilled carpenter. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Larry) Green, of Wawaka, IN; five grandchildren; Ken (Billie) Green of Urbana, OH; Janice (Rod) Steffen, of Greeley, CO; Debbie (Tony) Lemmon, of Ft. Wayne, IN; Diana (Derek) Bergemann of Columbus, OH; Susan (Dan) Slane, of Columbus, OH; sixteen great-grandchildren; his brother, John Miller of Springfield, OH; and a sister, Edna Johnson of Ft. Wayne, IN. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. There will be a memorial service in his honor on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN at 4PM. Pastor Joey Nelson of Stones Hill Community Church will officiate. Burial will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Battle Creek, MI at a later date.
