Thomas N. Yoder

Thomas N. "Tom" Yoder, age 55, of Topeka, IN passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 25, 2009 at 4:09 AM at Goshen General Hospital, Goshen, IN following a brief illness.

He was born March 17, 1954 in Goshen, IN to Maynard & Marietta Yoder. Tom was co-owner of Yoder Farm Service in Topeka where he had worked since the age of 16. He was also a 25 year retired member of the Topeka Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Topeka Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother: Marietta (Maynard), Topeka, IN; and 2 daughters: Sabrina (Bob) Penick, Topeka, IN and Wendy (Scott) Griffith of Goshen, IN; 4 grandchildren: Madison, Kyle & Korey Penick, & Jack Griffith. Also, a companion of 9 years: Barb Logan of Wolcottville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Yoder, Topeka, and his paternal grandparents.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 12noon- 8 PM at Maple Grove Church-806 S. Main St. in Topeka, IN. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10 AM at the church with Pastor Harold Gingerich officiating. Burial will follow the service in Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka, IN.
