Joy L. Weimer

Joy Weimer, 82, of Ligonier, IN, left Avalon Village on January 27, 2016, to be forever with the Lord surrounded by her family. She was born June 10, 1933, to Chester “Roy” and Erma (Hontz) Stump in Kimmell, IN. On July 9, 1952, Joy married Lennel “Pat” Weimer in Larwell, IN. He preceded her in death in 1998.

Joy was a long time employee of the Kidd Co. in Ligonier. Prior to that she was a teacher’s aide for many years in the West Noble school system. She spent her time working on crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles, gardening and was an avid reader of mystery novels. Joy’s favorite pastime was to be with her family. Being a loving mother and a grandmother was something she definitely enjoyed.

Joy will be dearly missed by her children: Greg (Nancy) Weimer, of Winona Lake, IN, Pam (Ed) Whipp, of Fort Wayne, IN, Allen (Debra) Weimer, of Ligonier, IN, Randy (Christy) Weimer of Hinsdale, IL, and Joe Weimer of Ligonier. As well she will be missed by 15 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews and her sister, Judy Crider of Churubusco, IN.

Joy was welcomed into Everlasting Life by her husband, her parents and her brother; Jack Stump.

A funeral service in honor of Joy will be held at Yeager Funeral Home; 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11AM Pastor John Lersch will officiate. A burial will take place Salem Cemetery in Larwell, IN.

Family and friends will be received Friday, January 29, 2016 from 4PM-8PM at Yeager Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 10AM-11AM, prior to the service.
