Marjorie (Galloway) Kimball, 102, passed away on November 18, 2015 in Mesa, Arizona. Marjorie was born in Wakarusa, Indiana on January 1, 1913 to Forest and Ethel Smeltzer. She graduated from Elkhart High School and while there attended a local business college. Marjorie formerly served as Ligonier City Clerk and assisted her husband, Herb, in the family store, Galloway’s Men’s Wear. She was retired from Penn Controls of Goshen, Indiana.
Marjorie loved all animals and during her later years in Arizona, she relished having her Chihuahua, Tinkerbell, constantly by her side. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and watching basketball and was always ready to talk about current events and the latest fashion trends. Her family was always very important to her.
She is survived by two daughters: K. Diane (Lee) Ward and Susan (Gary) Franks; granddaughters: Laura (David) Brandts, Kathleen (Jim) Bramlage, Pamela (Rob) Bettinger, and Cary (Matt) Richey; nephew: Jim (Barb) Swartzell; 10 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and two great nieces. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Maxine Swartzell, son-in-law Lee Ward, and previous husbands, Herbert Galloway and Glenn Kimball.
Marjorie had been active in the Ligonier Presbyterian Church and attended the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church after moving to Arizona.
A gravesite memorial service will be held in Marjorie's honor on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11AM at the Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN. Pastor David Brandt will officiate.
