Darlene Johnson

Darlene Johnson, age 60 of Ligonier, IN passed away April 11, 2009 at 6:50 PM in her home after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born February 7, 1949 in Seymore, IN to Walter & Elsie (Barger) Riley. On July 2, 1965 she married James Leo Sr., he survives.

Darlene moved from Hamilton, OH to Ligonier in 1977, worked for Kidd & Company in Ligonier until her retirement, & was a member of the Baptist Church & the American Legion Auxiliary in Ligonier.

She is survived by her husband James Leo Sr. of Ligonier, 4 daughters: Chistina (Edward) Gillespie of Albion, Elsie Weldy of Ligonier, Thelma (Tony) Chavez of Goshen, 5 Grandchildren: Cheyenne & Adriana Weldy, Anthony, Ethan & Nicholas Chavez, 1 brother and 4 sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son: James Leo Johnson Jr. in 1983, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday April 15, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier with Rev. Gary Allen officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
Friends may call Tuesday April 14, 2009 from 11 AM-2 PM & 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
