Robert Duane Wilcox Sr.

Robert D. Wilcox, age 80, of Ligonier, IN passed away following an illness late evening on Thursday, December 3, 2015. He was born on November 5, 1935, the son of Fred M. and Leona Playford (Norris) Wilcox in Hillsdale, MI. Robert served in the United States Army, a military veteran, you could find him after retirement heading to the “office” aka: The Dari Point Restaurant in Ligonier to socialize and gather among friends. He also liked to play guitar and watch many types of sports, especially anything related to the Detroit Tigers or the state of Michigan. You could often catch him fishing and hunting, as they were some of his favorite pastimes. He is survived by his sister, Doris M. Boetz; children, Robert Wilcox Jr., Roberta “Bobbi” Garcia, and Laura (Mike) Miller; grandchildren, Jonathan D. Wilcox, Brittany Tackett, Andy Moog, Justin Moog, Mason K. Wilcox, Staffan A. Wilcox, Morgan J. Wilcox, and Mykaela R. Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Aiden Adams and Drayden Slabach. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and siblings, Richard Wilcox, Fred Wilcox, and Junior Wilcox. A funeral service in honor of Robert will beheld at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Ind. Celebrant Larry Baker will officiate. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at the Funeral Home.
