Marcia Bowen Hicks

Marcia Bowen Hicks of Ligonier, IN, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009. She was born October 3, 1944 to Fred and Emagene (Lemmon) Bowen. She married Glen Hicks in 1962. He survives along with her children: Carrie Hicks, Scott (Jean) Hicks, Amy Hicks, and Clay (Jeni) Hicks. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Shantoria, Zachary, Kohdee, Sasha and Sonia; and her beloved dog, Dottie.

Also surviving are her siblings: Anita (James) Cassidy, Thomas (Tammy) Janes, Lisa (Schlene) Janes, Catherine (Chris) Muesing, and David (Pam) Alles.

She was preceded in death by her mother Emagene, fathers Fred and H.T. Janes Jr., and step mother Mary Janes.

Marcia was a lifelong homemaker and a very active memeber of numerous clubs and organizations including the Chatterbelles Extension Homemakers, the Ligonier Study Club and the Westside Happy Hatters Red Hat Society.

Marcia was well known for her love of cooking and baking, winning numerous awards. She was also an active miniature enthusiast and belonged to numerous miniature dollhouse clubs, including the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (NAME).

A funeral service will be held for Marcia on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier with her nephew Pastor Mitchell Hile officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday April 4, 2009 from 2-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier. Memorial Gifts may be made to the Goshen Evangelical Church, 61103 C.R. 17, Goshen, IN 46526.
