Lary Dale “Red Eye” Reed, of the Cromwell Syracuse area, passed away Friday October 30, 2015 following a brief illness, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was 56 years old. He was born August 29, 1959 the son of Dale and Mary Reed in Goshen, IN. Like a wise man, he never married. He is survived by his mother, Mary (Billy) Stump of Goshen, IN; 3 sisters, Dawnice Alexander of Elgin, IL, Shawn Vanderpoool of Goshen, IN, and Sharon (Steve) Warstler of Butler, IN; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Clayton, Adrienne , Nathan, and Logan; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Reed; sister, Ramona Oberlin; nephew, Nick Henson; brother-in-law, Mike Vanderpool; and his beloved dog “B. D.” Lary served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp from 1977-1980. He was a member of the American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier and an avid football fan. He never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. “If Lary had a dollar, everyone had a dollar”. He will be greatly missed by all the family and friends that he loved to spend time with. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-6 pm on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN. A cremation committal will take place with Legacy Cremation &Remembrance Center in Ligonier. A private family graveside service with full military honors will be held at a later date in Oak Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Disabled American Veterans or Kosciusko County Humane Society.
