Frances E. Fisel

LIGONIER — Frances Eleanor Fisel, 84, died Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Avalon Village Nursing Home, Ligonier.

On January 25, 1925 in Noble Co., IN she was born to Elmer Eugene & Nellie Marie (Roach) Chiddister.
She married Richard D. Fisel in Goshen Aug. 14, 1943. He died Dec. 27, 2002.

She had worked at various businesses, the last 25 years at The Ligonier Hardware from which she retired in 1991. Mrs. Fisel was an over 50 year member and past president of the Perry Township Extension Homemakers Club; a charter member & past president of the Ligonier Historical Society; member & served as secretary of the Good Samaritan Circle; she was named outstanding citizen of the year in 1995. She was also a member of the Ligonier United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Marc J. Fisel, Columbia City, and Stephen R. Fisel, Longview, Texas, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Fisel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Raymond Lamar Chiddister.

Private family services will take place and burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg with Pastor Michael Heinbaugh officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Ligonier Historical Society.
