CROMWELL — Janis M. Rarick, 71, of Cromwell died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Avalon Village of Ligonier.
She was the retired manager of the Ligonier Marathon Station.
Mrs. Rarick was a former member of the Ligonier EUB Church.
She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 243 in Ligonier.
She was born Jan. 15, 1937, in Kendallville to Ethel (Growcock) and Frank Sprague Sr. She married William J. Rarick on Sept. 9, 1955. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1995. Mrs. Rarick was a lifetime area resident.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dan Rarick of Newnan, Ga., and Gene and Robyn Rarick of Ligonier; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Henry ‘‘Andy’’ Kilburn of Winter Haven, Fla.; grandchildren, Brandon Rarick of Cromwell, B rittany and Andrew Bordner of Kendallville, John Matthew Rarick of Newnan, Ga., and Dylan, Caleb and Cassie Kilburn of Winter Haven, Fla.; two siblings, Glen Sprague of Ligonier and Betty Chiddister of Kendallville; and a special friend, Virgil Burns of Ligonier.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and 13 siblings.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
Calling will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are to the Noble County Humane Society.
