Charlene Heintzelman

Charlene Heintzelman, age 79, of Cromwell, IN passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM at IU Health in Goshen, IN. She was born on November 26, 1935 in Elkhart, IN to Dr. Russel and Hazel (Irey) Horn. On April 23, 1955 she married Roger Heintzelman in Topeka, IN. He survives. Mrs. Heintzelman was a lifelong area resident. She owned and operated Heintzelman’s Grocery in Cromwell. She was a member of the Topeka Baptist Church. Charlene enjoyed gardening, animals, and was a member of Stone’s Trace Historical Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and wintering in Florida. She is survived by her husband, Roger; her sons, Jim (Fran) Heintzelman, Jeff ( Darla) Heintzelman both of Cromwell; six grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Shearer, Andrew Heintzelman, Mary (Brandon) Kiser, Bradley Heintzelman, Tyler Heintzelman, Logan Heintzelman; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rodney Heintzelman; seven siblings, Jim Horn, Joe Horn, Charles Horn, Wilma Bentley, Martha Wyatt, Barbara Caple, Beverly Renkenberger. A memorial service will be held in Mrs. Heintzelman’s honor on Saturday, April 25 at 7:00 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767, with Pastor Joey Nelson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-7 PM at Yeager Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are to the Alzheimer’s Association, The American Heart Association, or the Noble County Humane Society.
