Dakota Reed Bushong

Dakota Reed Bushong, age 9, of Topeka died as result of a sledding accident that took place Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11:47 AM in Topeka, IN.

He was born December 6, 1999 in Goshen to Phillip & Shannon (Fisher) Bushong.

He was a member of Topeka Baptist Church, and was a third grade student at Topeka Elementary School. He was a very happy go lucky boy. He loved all sports, skate boarding and riding his bike. He will forever be missed by his family and friends that loved him dearly.

Surviving are his parents Phillip and Shannon (Fisher) Bushong of Topeka; 2 sisters, Erin (Travis) Young of Wolcottville, Breann Bushong of Topeka; 1 Brother, Colton Bushong of Topeka; Grandparents, Ron and MaryAnn Fisher of Topeka, Jim and Carol Bushong of Goshen, Kerry Sheley of Topeka; Great-Grandparents, Bernard and Carol McMurry of Bonita Springs, FL.; Great-Great-Grandmother, Ruby Pierce of Kendallville; 15 Aunts and Uncles, Todd & Vicki Fisher of Topeka, Curt & Peggy Fisher of Ligoner, Kevin & Jeanie Fisher of New Paris, Andrew Bushong of Goshen, Kim & Jack Applegate of Ligonier, Taryn & Ryan Bergman of Goshen, Tara & Brock Manning of Milford, Sara & Dave Hoefer of Middlebury; 18 Cousins and his dog Casper, who all love him and miss him very much.

He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandparents, Dana and Laura Greenawalt, Bill Bushong, Lenard and Martha Fisher, & Burt and Dora Ott.

The funeral service will take place Wednesday, December 24 at 10:30 AM at Topeka Baptist Church, Topeka, IN with Pastor Gene Parker and Pastor Harold Gingerich officiating.

Friends may call Tuesday, December 23 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at Topeka Baptist Church and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka.
