Betty L. Shoup

Betty L. Shoup, 80, of Wakarusa, formerly of Elkhart, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

She was born Aug. 15, 1928 in Greentown. She married Carl D. Shoup, her husband of 60 years, on June 29, 1947. He died Sept. 5, 2007.

Betty was a 1946 graduate of Greentown High School in Greentown, IN. She moved to the area at the age of 18 coming from Tipton, IN. Prior to her retirement she managed Hallmark stores in Goshen & Elkhart for several years.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlene “Deb” (Greg) Siberry of Elkhart; and two sons, Tom Shoup of Wakarusa, and Paul Shoup of Elkhart.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen. Services are set there at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Michael Curton officiating.

Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Goshen, IN. Memorial contributions may be directed to The Salvation Army, 201 Chicago Ave., Goshen, IN 46526.
