Robert Lee Longstreth

Robert Lee Longstreth, 84, of Topeka, passed away on September 14, 2014 at Miller’s Merry Manor in LaGrange. He was born on April 29, 1930 in Fort Wayne, IN to Thomas W. and Mildred R. Longstreth. He married Laila Jean Bever on August 28, 1980. She preceded him in death October 31, 2009.

He is survived by his six children, Robert Longstreth Jr. of Courtland, OH, Daniel Longstreth of Lakeview, OH, Bonnie Longstreth, Tommy Longstreth both of Warren, OH, Lucille Longstreth, Newton Falls, OH, and Debra White of Warren, OH; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.

Robert graduated from high school and went on to serve his country honorably in the Air Force. Mr. Longstreth worked as a truck driver for many years and after retirement worked in transportation for the Amish community. He enjoyed watching western movies, mowing his yard, and playing with the neighbor children.

A funeral service in his honor will be at Maple Grove Church, 806 South Main Street, Topeka, IN 46571 on Saturday September 20, 2014 at 10 AM. Pastor Harold Gingerich will officiate. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 PM on Friday September 19, 2014 at the church.
