Dorothy L. Butts, 61, of Albion, passed away on Saturday September 6, 2014 in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on January 3, 1953 in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Gerald and Dorothy (Goodrich) Christian. She married John Butts on May 11, 1975. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2013.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Mary (Dave) Underwood of Wawaka, IN, John (Rita) Butts of Lowell, MA, Amanda (Brad) Wagner of St. James, MO, Tim Butts of Clinton, IL and Tom Butts of Wawaka, IN. 8 Grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren survive, as well as her siblings: Geraldine Christian of Chelsea, MA, Paul (Mary) Christian of North Chelmsford, MA, Patricia Christian-Burgess of Chillcothe, IL, Bryan (Mary Jo) Christian of Litchfield, NH, Douglas (Lynn) Christian of Pelham, NH and Paula Jean Green of Lowell, MA. Dorothy is also survived by her dear roommate, Helen Rex, and her extended family at North Ridge Village.

She was preceded in death by: 2 granddaughters, Shantel Senders and Mackenzie Wagner; 5 brothers, Dennis, Charlie, Gerald and Donald Christian and James Butts; a sister, Madeline Christian; her mother, Dorothy F. Goodrich, in 1983; her father, Gerald L. Christian, in 1987 and her step-mother, Madeline Christian, in 2009.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Missouri. She was a homemaker. She loved to garden and cherished time with her grandchildren.

A graveside service in her honor will be at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN on Tuesday September 9, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Jimmy Shepherd will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be given to North Ridge Village Nursing Home.
