Carol Schieber-Bruner, age 76, of Cromwell passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 27, 1937 to Kirby and Lucy (Marchand) Wortinger in Goshen, IN. On April 18, 1954 she married Herman W. Schieber in LaGrange, IN. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2001. On December 6, 2009 she married Melvin Bruner in Cromwell, IN. He survives. Mrs. Bruner was an area resident since 1973 and was a member of the Cromwell United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working with the Martha Circle at the church. She loved to travel and the Smoky Mountains were a favorite destination. Carol was known for her homemade donuts and pies. She was active with the West Noble Food/Clothes Pantry. She is survived by her husband, Mel; six children, Douglas E. (Mary) Schieber of Wawaka, Kathleen Boyle of Ligonier, Larry ( Judy) Bruner of Wolcottville, Susan (David) Neal of Auburn, James (Lexa) Bruner of Rockville, Indiana, and Nancy (Dan) O’Dell of White Pigeon, Michigan; four grandchildren, Kristina Schieber, Adam Schieber, Katie (Aaron) Allman, Chelsea Boyle; 22 step-grandchildren and great- grandchildren. There will be a funeral service held in Mrs. Bruner’s honor on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 10AM at Yeager Funeral Home-1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767 with Pastor Marilyn Gebert officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, Indiana. There will be a time of visitation Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
