John F. Ross, 93, of Topeka, passed away on August 22, 2014 at home. He was born on February 9, 1921 in Noble County to Leonard and Beatrice (Hall) Ross. He is survived by 4 sons: Terry (Carolyn) Ross of LaGrange, IN, Jack (Janice) Ross of Sturgis, MI, Mark (Bonnie) Ross of Shipshewana, IN and Brian (Nancy) Ross of Sturgis, MI; a daughter, Tammy (Phillip) Finnerman of Sturgis, MI; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchilren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Hetrick of Waynedale, IN. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Jack Jr. and Christopher, and a sister, Maxine Crockett. John spent his life in the LaGrange County area. He graduated from Wawaka High School in 1939. He was a farmer and was a truck driver for Reith-Riley Construction Company. He was a member of the Tiffany’s Breakfast Club. He restored antique tractors and enjoyed going to steam shows. He loved NASCAR. A funeral service in his honor will be at 11 A.M. on Wednesday August 27, 2014 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Harold Gingerich will officiate. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery in Topeka, IN. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday August 26, 2014 from 5-8 P.M.
