June Williams, age 94, of Ligonier passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at 2:25 AM at her home. She was born on July 5, 1920 to Ezra & Beatrice (Owen) Shideler in Marilla, Michigan. On February 25, 1945 she married Charles R. Williams in Marilla, Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1999. Mrs. Williams graduated from Mesick Michigan High School in 1939 and went on to work at the Traverse City Michigan State Hospital until her marriage in 1945. June was an area resident of Ligonier since 1948. In 1959, the Williams became the founders and owners of “Fashion Farm” and the farm continues on today in the family’s 4th generation. Mrs. Williams was an active member of the Richville United Methodist Church of Ligonier and the church’s United Methodist Women. She enjoyed preserving history with her many collections and being curator of “This Ole House Memories Museum” set up by her husband in their old family home at Fashion Farm. Charles and June were honored in 1998 by the Ligonier Chamber of Commerce with the Citizens of the Year Award. Mrs. Williams enjoyed gardening and her flowers and the many birds that visited her feeders. She is survived by two children, Patty (Russ) Becker of Ligonier and Mike (Linda) Wagner of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Jason (Vicki) Becker, Adam (Kari) Becker, Sarah (Andy) Kniller, Mathew Wagner; five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husand, parents, three brothers and one sister. There will be a funeral service held in Mrs. William’s honor on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 10AM at Richville United Methodist Church with Pastor Tamra Gerber and Jean Ness officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier. There will be a time of visitation from 3-8 PM on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the Church. Memorial contributions are to the Richville United Methodist Church or Parkview Noble Hospice, 1836 Ida Red Rd, Kendallville, IN 46755.
