Michael R. Hoppus, age 59, of Columbia City, IN, formerly of Warsaw, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 9:15 PM at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw, IN. He was born on March 10, 1955 to Robert and Doreathea (Smith) Hoppus in Warsaw, Indiana. On December 31, 1992 he married Shelia Brown. She survives. He worked seven years for the Warsaw Street Department, seven years for the Warsaw Wastewater Treatment Facility, and then for Leesburg Tractor Parts. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, and watching all types of racing. He collected Coleman lanterns. Surviving are his wife, Shelia; two children, Bobby Hoppus, of Galveston, Texas, Amber (Evan) Morgan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one grandson, Wyatt Morgan; four siblings, Nancy Webster of Washington, DC, Cynthia Fiedeke of Warsaw, Mark Hoppus of Milford, Eddie (Lisa) Hoppus of Packerton, Indiana; nine nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held in Mr. Hoppus’s honor on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11 AM at Yeager Funeral Home with Pastor Byron Kaiser officiating. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center. There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Crosswalk Church, Ligonier, IN.
